Dr. Greg Harasen
Dr. Greg Harasen began his association with the Animal Clinic of Regina as a kennel helper in the spring of 1975. He graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan in 1983 and rejoined the practice becoming a partner in 1987. Shortly after the start of his practice career, Dr. Harasen began developing a special interest in orthopedic surgery. He has published many articles on the subject including a bimonthly column in the Canadian Veterinary Journal. In 2005 and 2008 articles by Dr. Harasen were published in the international journal of veterinary orthopedics, Veterinary Comparative Orthopedics and Traumatology. He has lectured to veterinarians and veterinary technologists and is currently an orthopedic surgery consultant for the internet-based Veterinary Information Network. Dr. Harasen is a past-President of the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association and a recipient of it's 2006 Meritorious Service Award. He was named the Canadian Veterinary Medical Association's Small Animal Practitioner of the Year in 2002.
In February 2010 Drs Greg and Karen Harasen retired as owners of the Animal Clinic of Regina. Dr. Greg Harasen returns to do orthopedic consultations and surgery on a part-time basis. During his off hours, Dr. Harasen and his wife, Karen, enjoy time at their cottage on Katepwa Lake. He loves a round of golf, curling, coaching minor football, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders!
